The club is led by Sensei Dan Almon, 4th Dan. Capital City Karate is a member of the All South Karate Federation (ASKF) and the Japan Karate Association American Federation (JKAAF) under the direction of Sensei T. Mikami .
Capital City Karate teaches Shotokan Karate, a Japanese style developed by Gichin Funakoshi based upon traditional teaching methods that gradually build physical and mental discipline. Shotokan is characterized by deep, long stances that provide stability, enable powerful movements, and strengthen the legs.
